The early origins of kalamkari art were portrayed in the form of religious tapestry as temple scrolls, that adorned the ceilings and corridors of the temples as mural paintings, depicting the moods through colors, such as rajas(a violent emotion) were painted in red and sattvic emotions were done in white and yellow.
